- FT/PT Associate Urgent Care Veterinarian
Description
Tired of Corporate Veterinary Medicine? Come Play Urgent Care Instead.
Pet Urgent Care in Winchester, VA is looking for a full- or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team!
We're a busy, privately owned urgent care practice that handles the fun stuff: lacerations, vomiting dogs, foreign body workups, mystery limps, skin, eyes, and plenty of "he was fine five minutes ago" cases. You'll get the interesting medicine, procedures, and case variety that make every day different, while still having time to catch your favorite show, coach your kid's soccer team, or simply enjoy a life outside of work.
We're veterinarian-owned, privately owned, and built around a simple idea: we're here to help pets and the people who love them. We focus on finding solutions, practicing good medicine, and making care accessible, not spending our days haggling over estimates or answering to a corporate spreadsheet.
Why our doctors love it here:
Supportive, laid-back team that genuinely enjoys working together, snacks and lots of laughter
Competitive base salary + production
Health, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with employer contribution
PTO and CE allowance
Close relationships with a nearby 24/7 emergency hospital for transfers and advanced care and local non-profit organizations for client financial assistance
A workplace where goofiness is encouraged and nobody gets judged for surviving on caffeine and puppy kisses
And maybe most importantly...
Your professional interests are encouraged, not restricted.
Love ultrasound? Awesome. Let's get you a really nice ultrasound machine.
Obsessed with ophthalmology? We'll send you to the CE.
Want to become the local wound management wizard? Let's do it.
Interested in a particular procedure, skill set, or area of medicine? We want our doctors to grow, develop their passions, and help shape what this practice becomes. If there's a tool, piece of equipment, or service that helps you provide better care and makes you excited to come to work, we're all ears. We're building a workplace where good ideas don't disappear into corporate bureaucracy and where doctors have a real voice in the future of the practice.
Our culture is centered around great medicine, teamwork, common sense, and remembering why most of us got into this profession in the first place: helping pets and the people who love them.
If you enjoy interesting cases, a fast-paced environment, and working with people who don't take themselves too seriously, we'd love to talk.
Great medicine. Great people. No corporate nonsense.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
DVM or VMD degree and eligibility for veterinary licensure in Virginia
Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help both pets and their people
Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player
Comfortable managing urgent care cases, or eager to learn with support and mentorship
Positive attitude, good sense of humor, and willingness to jump in wherever needed
Interest in helping build and improve a growing practice
Commitment to practicing high-quality, compassionate medicine
Weekend availability (because unfortunately pets don't read business hours)
Bonus points if you:
Love procedures and surgery
Enjoy point-of-care ultrasound
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Like solving diagnostic puzzles
Have ideas about how veterinary medicine can be better and want to help make them happen
Whether you're an experienced ER doctor or a GP looking for a change of pace and more interesting cases, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for someone who is kind, adaptable, team-oriented, and excited to help build something special.
