JOB SUMMARY The Director of Anchorage Animal Care & Control (AACC) is responsible for the leadership and oversight of AACC, the open-admission animal shelter of the Municipality of Anchorage. Responsibilities include: oversight of shelter operations including a 25-person staff; hiring, training, and leading staff; providing expert opinion to legal counsel and other public entities pertaining to animal cruelty and neglect cases and best practices in the care of animals; and ensuring compliance with client contract and company safety requirements.
