We are a small mixed animal practice that is primarily mobile. We see about 50% equine, 35% food animal (mostly cattle and small ruminants), and 15% small animal. Our primary focus is on excellent client communications and patient care.
We have all the equipment you could need, digital, wireless, portable radiographs, ultrasound, Abaxis chemistry and CBC machines, small animal anesthesia machine, anesthesia monitoring unit including EKG and capnograph, 2 autoclaves, and equine power float. The associate veterinarian will be provided with a pickup truck with portavet unit and ultrasound for use on calls.
Dutton Veterinary Services is located in a rural veterinarian shortage (listed by the USDA) and near 2 other rural veterinarian shortage areas. The need is huge here and our practice is growing rapidly. We were awarded the Veterinary Services Rural Practice Enhancement grant in 2018. And there is potential for the right candidate to be awarded a VMLRP award in this area.
We do emergency and on-call services. The right candidate will share on-call when ready. We provide mentoring and support as needed. We encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things while also providing a safety net if you need. Want a boss that has your back? Look no further.
Salary is competitive and negotiable with excellent benefits including paid time-off, liability insurance, licensing fees, 1 paid professional membership and CE and uniform allowance.
Delaware county NY is located in the beautiful Catskill mountains and the area abounds with outdoor activities. Several urban areas (including NYC w/in 3 hours) within short drives provide your need for ethnic foods and other activities. But be prepared to live out in the peace and quiet of the countryside.
