The team of Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services, a thriving mixed animal practice located in serene Eastern Colorado, is seeking to add a full-time or part-time associate veterinarian. This unique opportunity is at a clinic that is conveniently located within a comfortable driving distance from the Denver/Colorado Springs/Front Range, providing ample opportunity for entertainment, diverse culture, and city amenities. In addition to the conveniences of the nearby Front Range, Eastern Colorado offers a variety of outdoor activities inclusive of, but not limited to: hunting, hiking, fairs, birdwatching, historical sites, and hidden gems of the arts, along with both rustic and refined culture. Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services is located in Limon, CO with a diverse service area that extends 60 miles into outlying communities, providing service to livestock producers and companion animal clients. The breakdown of the diversity is forty percent food animal and sixty percent companion animals (dogs/cats/pocket pets/equine). To provide quality care to these patients, we are proud to offer Avimark software with “paper light” charting, a Heska in-house laboratory (Chem/CBC/T4/Cortisol/Coag), in-house and portable digital radiology, ultrasound (Ibex Evo), Tonopen, Pulse Ox, EKG, Laser Therapy, Silencer hydraulic chute, portable tub and alleyway, digital coggins and health certificates through global vet link, indoor calving/surgical pen, isolation area, equine PRP equipment, and IV pumps. We take pride in being active in community support and heavily encourage all staff members to be engaged in community service and involvement. Some of the current community outreach efforts that we have include offering informational outreach, involvement in the local chamber of commerce, participation in civic events/projects, support of the local 4-H and FFA programs, community cleanup, grant fundraising, and several member of our staff serve on local boards. The successful candidate will exhibit the qualities of self-motivation, team work, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. These qualities should be evident while also exhibiting our core values of honesty, quality, science-based medicine, and compassion for patients, including respect of clients. Applicants should be comfortable with both large and small animal medicine and surgery and be able to complete patient records in a timely and thorough manner. In order to maintain a level of efficient and quality medicine, associate veterinarians must be able to work professionally and proficiently with all staff members. They should be able to take the lead in patient care while embracing input from clients and staff, assist in daily tasks, take leadership from staff on clinic policy, and be able to communicate in a polite and respectful manner. Our staff is cross trained in multiple positions in order to fully support the needs of the veterinarians in their efforts to provide exceptional care for our patients. Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services offers in clinic and ambulatory services Monday through Saturday and emergency after-hours/weekend service. On call, Wednesday evening, and Saturday morning hours will be on a rotational basis shared by the veterinarians. To set our associate veterinarians on a road for success in our practice, we offer mentorship and training, a stocked mobile veterinary unit, IRA contributions after 2 years of employment, continuing education stipend, vacation time, malpractice insurance, and paid professional and license fees.
