Are you ready to live in an amazing location while working for employers that uphold high standards of veterinary medicine while also advocating for your quality of life? Do you like experiencing the great outdoors while living and working in an area with a strong sense of community? Are you ready to work in a progressive and busy practice alongside a team that actually likes and supports one another? Do you want to be able to say that you genuinely like your employers and that they are pretty cool? Not to toot our own horn — but if you’re into this tune, do take a closer look.
Chimacum Valley Veterinary Hospital (www.ChimacumVet.com) is located on Washington’s beautiful Olympic Peninsula, in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains (averaging about half the rain of the rest of the Pacific Northwest). This community is one where there is always something going on (wooden boat, kinetic sculpture, blues, jazz, art, film, writing, brewing & steampunk festivals just to name a few), and the list of outdoor activities within an hour’s drive is nearly endless (mountaineering, hiking, camping, mountain biking, sailing, rowing, fishing, snow sports, wildlife, beachcombing, etc). Seattle is close enough for day trips to the big city, yet we’re far enough away to be sheltered from the negative aspects of city life (parking, traffic, mayhem). See www.enjoypt.com and www.ptguide.com for more.
Our practice has a solid reputation for providing high-quality medicine and surgery while emphasizing excellent client communication and care. We value our team and actively promote professional growth through CE and mentoring.
The business is owned by two veterinarians (Abbie Doll & Jeff Highbarger) who have worked together (in a refreshingly healthy way) since 1998. Abbie and Jeff moved from Florida to Port Townsend to buy the practice in 2010. They do their best to support a healthy work environment for all team members. Employees of our hospital are encouraged to seek healthy work-life balance, as it helps us all achieve greater happiness in both work and life.
