Veterinary Neurology and Imaging of the Chesapeake is seeking a well-qualified veterinarian to join our team in Annapolis. The primary role of the associate veterinarian is to perform and oversee anesthesia of patients undergoing MRI. Minimum requirements would include either completion of a small animal rotating internship or 3 years clinical experience. Our 1.5 T MRI facility is equipped with state-of-the-art anesthesia machines, a ventilator, monitoring equipment (ECG, ETCO2, SPO2, and blood pressure) and WAGs. We are located in a referral facility housing multiple services including neurology, cardiology, surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology,and emergency services giving us exposure to many areas of veterinary medicine.
Daily duties include:
Supervision of day-to-day operations in the MRI unit
Pre-anesthesia evaluation for MRI patients
Development of anesthetic protocols
Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
Maintenance of controlled drugs and patient records
Communication with referring veterinarians and clients
In addition, weekend duties will include:
Evaluation of Neurology inpatients and communication with on-call Neurologist
Emergency on-call for MRIs until a designated time
The veterinarian will be supported by a registered veterinary technician, a certified MRI technologist, technician assistants, and an administration manager.
