Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) in Silverdale Washington is recruiting for a full-time Clinic Manager to join our shelter veterinary team. KHS is a highly progressive open-admission animal shelter with a 96% lives-saved rate and a range of lifesaving animal welfare programs. Silverdale is located on the western shores of Puget Sound, one hour from Seattle and close to the beautiful Olympic Mountains.
The Clinic Manager will work in close partnership with the Director of Shelter Medicine, veterinarians, staff and volunteers to provide high quality shelter medicine, surgery, treatment and care for KHS shelter animals. Our lifesaving programs have grown over the past three years, and we are excited for the opportunity to recruit a highly motivated Clinic Manager to work alongside us in providing excellent medical and surgical care for the animals and community we serve.
Each year KHS takes in over 7,000 homeless animals including over 2,000 animals from at-risk partner shelters across the region. Our veterinary team performs over 2,000 spay/neuter surgeries for our low income community each year. Our shelter leadership and staff are dedicated to improving the lives of animals.
The Clinic Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of our Veterinary Services department to meet objectives for budget, strategic plan and quality medical care. He or she will: • supervise the veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants and department volunteers • work collaboratively in a multi-department team environment • work closely with all medical staff to maximize the efficiency of the population flow within the shelter and provide veterinary services to external and internal customers. • provide exceptional leadership to support the mission, goals and philosophy of Kitsap Humane Society (KHS).
The position is estimated to encompass at least 2/3 of staff time performing administration and oversight for the department, with the remaining performing hands-on care and licensed technician duties for the shelter as needed in order to meet department goals.
The Clinic Manager must hold a current LVT license in Washington state or be able to obtain licensure, with at least 1 year clinic management experience preferred. We offer competitive compensation and, for out-of-state candidates, we are pleased to offer a relocation package in order to make for a smoother transition.
