Veterinarians needed for rapidly growing AAHA-certified small animal hybrid practice in NE Ohio (Salem). We are looking for a full-time and part-time veterinarian that can stay humorous in a fast pace, growing, long established and very busy small animal practice providing quality medicine to a large client base. We are a full-service multi-doctor hospital with in-house lab, digital radiology/ultrasound, large treatment area, full surgery suite and all the equipment you need to manage your patients. Our services include Wellness, Sick, Surgery, Urgent care, Critical care, ICU and daytime Emergency services. Our staff can get the job done and still have fun doing it. We believe in using available technology to provide the best medicine possible. As a hybrid practice, we offer human quality medicine for our patients while tailoring it to the client's needs and income. Although we are not a specialty center, we can offer many similar services but can also provide referral to one of the nearby specialists. Our Motto is the needs of the patient come first. The hospital is large (9000 sq ft) and recently renovated - you won't believe how beautiful and modern it is. We have a full in house lab, ultrasound, dental machines, digital x-ray machine, 2 large surgery suites, isolation room, large treatment area, with 3 ICU units and critical care cages, with facility to house up to 34 patients. We have it all! We like our toys! We are open 7 days a week with doctors sharing weekends. The average work week is 40 - 45 hours per week. The community is supportive, and we pull clients in from as far as 50 miles away. However, we have clients that travel all over so we also have clients in Canada, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Washington and Hawaii.
With Mentoring and additional training for new grads, they will be able to manage small animal preventative care, surgery cases, internal medicine cases and daytime emergency cases. Surgery and emergency skills are taught or mentored. Individuals should have strong teamwork and communication skills; be able to work in a team environment and provide staff with written and verbal directions, able to multi-task and use computer and should have flexibility for schedules and must be able to work any day including some (NOT every) weekend. Doctors rotate after hour on-call service, but don't let this scare you off. The service is meant to answers questions as to medications, go home instructions and whether patient needs to be referred to the ER. You are not expected to give medical advice over the phone to non-clients. On call duties do not require coming in for emergencies unless that is what you want to do. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES•Examine animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries.•Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, performing surgery, or other therapies.•Inoculate animals against various diseases.•Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, or other body fluids for examination and analysis.•Perform laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests, including parasitology, hematology and urinalysis.•Operate diagnostic equipment, such as radiographic and ultrasound equipment, and interpret the resulting images.•Administer anesthetics, perform surgery, and monitor patients during surgery and recovery with the assistance of the technical team.•Follow discharge guidelines for hospitalized and post-surgical patients and treatment plan guidelines for clients to ensure proper patient treatment in the home environment including client follow up post hospitalization.•Answer client questions and provide education on various aspects of animal care and treatment. Advise animal owners regarding sanitary measures, feeding, and general care necessary to promote health of their pets. •Educate the public about diseases that can be spread from animals to humans.•Call back/follow-up with clients; recommend medical progress visits when appropriate.•Humanely euthanize animals when it has been mutually agreed upon by the patient’s owner.•Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs and patient records.•Train and supervise team members who handle and care for animals; as needed.•Deal with clients and employees in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism. •Provide guidance and leadership to the healthcare team that will positively influence the level of care and service provided to the clients and patients
Additional Salary Information: Salary: Guaranteed $75,000 - $80,000 annually (based on experience) with a $5000.00 sign on bonus. Benefits: Excellent benefits including 6 days paid time off in the first year with an additional 6 days added the second year, paid sick leave up to 5 days per year, paid CE (lodging and travel expenses are included), and licensing fees, copay on health insurance, and liability/malpractice insurance 100% paid.

We have a full in-house lab, ultrasound, dental machines, digital x-ray machine electrocautery unit, 2 large surgery suites, multiple full parameter monitors and anesthesia machines, isolation room, portable oxygen cage, Snyder ICU machine, 2 ICU isolettes, with facility to house up to 34 sick patients. We have a large waiting room split into two sections to divide dogs and cats. We are open 7 days a week with doctors rotating weekends. The average work week is 40 - 55 hours per week.
